Trevor Nelson




Trevor is a co-founder and managing partner of ACG and enjoys providing a unique level of partnership and capital to entrepreneurs with consumer businesses poised for compelling growth. Trevor currently serves on the boards of Way Better Snacks and Cookie Chips.  He previously served on the board of barkTHINS, which was acquired by The Hershey Company, and of EVOL Foods, which was acquired by Boulder Brands.


In 2015, ACG was named by GrowthCap as one of America’s “Top 25 Growth Equity Investment Firms” across all industries.  Also in 2015, Trevor and his partners Josh Goldin and Julian Steinberg were all named to Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes the most influential young people in business.


Prior to co-founding ACG, Trevor was a principal with The Lessing Companies, a consumer-focused family investment group. Earlier in his career, Trevor worked for Texas Pacific Group (TPG Capital), one of the world’s largest private equity firms with over $75 billion of capital under management. As a generalist in TPG's North American Buyouts Fund, Trevor was involved in transactions in the consumer, industrial and healthcare sectors.


Before TPG, Trevor spent three years working for the New York-based private equity firm, Harvest Partners where he completed investments in the consumer and industrial sectors.


Trevor began his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lehman Brothers. Trevor holds a B.A. from Northwestern University where he studied political science and was the captain of the men's varsity NCAA soccer team.
